Over two decades of award winning images, Jonathan Exley was one of the most sought after photographers from best selling authors, Hollywood's elite, sports figures to world famous rock stars. Celebrities like Lauren Bacall, Cameron Diaz, Annette Bening and Kevin Costner, all agree that Exley was at the top of his field.  As an artist, he had the ability to capture light, work fast, and most importantly grab the human soul in that instant of honesty.

He shot scores of magazine covers and created magic with beauties such as Isabella Rossalini, Kathy Ireland, Rebecca Romijn Stamos, Rachel Hunter and Christy Turlington, to name a few.  "The relationship between photographer and model is important because the camera doesn't lie.  Jonathan is a great communicator and he brings an element of fun to his work," states Kathy Ireland.  Exley's style of photography captured a truth in his subjects that allows their essence to illuminate, therefore each year he is a first call by People Magazine to contribute to their Most Beautiful People issue.

Exley's career began with shooting music luminaries, Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Chris Issak, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Warren Zevon among others.  He then made the transition into editorial work shooting some of Hollywood's elite, which landed him in the White House photographing Hillary Rodham-Clinton.

Jonathan also captured the mystique and mystery behind some of the most imaginative authors of our time.  Exley's photographs have appeared around the world for folks like Neil Simon, Michael Crichton, Jonathan Kellerman, Terry McMillan and Richard North Patterson.

Jonathan was interviewed and featured on A & E's Top 10.  Exley's hard work over the years earned him recognition and endorsements from such prominent companies as Kodak film and Hasselblad cameras.  He received two of the coveted American Photography Awards as well as recognition from the Art Directors Club of Los Angeles, Art Directors Magazines and the most prestigious Graphis Annual.

Exley's natural aptitude for precision and speed were discovered through an early interest in racecar driving. Naturally, one of his favorite clients, Marlboro Team Penske Racing is perfectly suited to Exley's full throttle excitement for capturing life's moments.  That is why sports legends like Martina Navratilova, Rick Mears, Isaiah Thomas and Wayne Gretzky all enjoyed working with him.

Jonathan was privileged to give back by speaking and giving seminars on behalf of Hasselblad cameras at Brooks Institute and other Colleges, Seminars, and EXPO's around the world.  He died in 2011.
